"I'm a once-a-teacher always-a-teacher, Carolina girl who starts her day with a Diet Pepsi, loves breakfast for dinner, especially chicken and waffles, but give me a drive-through, and I'm a dipper of fries in a frosty.
I'm quick-witted and silly, an unfortunate snorter, quirky by nature, acknowledger of "sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield,” I like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain—J/K, I prefer BS—bubbly and sunshine.
I'm a wife, bonus mom, agent of compromise, short-order cook, rescue pup snuggler, and sometimes a word maker upper.
I’m a word connoisseur, lover of lists, proponent of planning, idea detective, a wordplay wrangler, and finally…a never give up on becoming a published picture book writer."
A graduate of UNC Charlotte, Jennifer has a BA in English. She has taught middle school language arts and high school English, teaching in both Texas and North Carolina. Growing up in Charlotte, NC since she was 9, Jennifer very much considers herself a southern girl, even though she doesn't drink sweet tea.
Currently, Jennifer is working on writing several children's picture book manuscripts, and she has ideas and plans for many more. She is an active member of SCBWI. Attending workshops and conferences, collaborating with her critique groups, networking, supporting fellow writers, and working on her craft are her main priorities.
